Rare performance of Bloch's Schelomo by George Neikrug

We have just posted the Part 1 of Ernst Bloch's Schelomo with George Neikrug on cello.

Review...

An intensely emotional performance that exhibits a rare musical vulnerability. Neikrug's sound is poignant and when he plays in the upper registers of the G string, achieves a sound that is stunning.

Anecdote...

I was amazed to find out that this was not the best take. Apparently during an earlier take which the artist himself described as "the best one", the old radiators in in New York's Studio 8H started clanging as the heat went on. Even so, this so called "2nd best take" is no let down.
